get the word out

get the word out

Hello all. I think it would be a good idea to get some kind of press release on where we are and where we are going. the L.W.G. trail is a great asset to all communitys that it touches. Also note it is easily reached from all over the state. I belive any type of press would help let the public know we are here!! Thank you, Russell J. Nee

Re: get the word out

I agree, Russ.
I think we can get most bang for the buck by getting press coverage later this winter/spring, starting
with how we are going to revitalize the Lenape Trail with support of the New York New Jersey Trail Conference (NYNJTC).
I am really pleased to report that the NYNJTC has voted to provide technical assistance for this project,
and will be advertising later this winter/spring in their newsletter for volunteers to participate in the reblazing effort.
A key point to the reblazing is that it will focus on adding trail signs advertising the Lenape AND the Liberty Water Gap,
similar to what you have been doing for the Patriots Path.

Also later this year,  I will be utilizing some grant money obtained through assistance of Rails to Trails to purchase
new updated signs for the Liberty Water Gap.   You'll be receiving a bunch of them from me.  As we've discussed,
it would be great if we could increase the density of the LWGT signs significantly along the Patriots Path, Paulinskill, etc.
(i.e. major intersections and public congregation points) to let them know about the statewide trail.
On the Lenape,  we think the density will be several per mile in each direction.
